Artist Bio

Caroline Gloux (b. 1978) is a self-taught French artist, born and raised in Stavanger, Norway; where she currently lives. She has also lived in France, Australia and Switzerland.

Art and creativity lies in the genes on her father’s side of the family (including a gallery in Brittany, France) and she has from an early age, drawn, painted and been interested in all kinds of art, design, makeup and fashion.

She gets inspiration from nature, music, her fascination for clouds, skies and spirituality. Creating her own interpretations with a modern twist to it. Often simple designs but with a deeper meaning, hiding strong emotions and feelings. There is always a multitude of interpretations and color adds an extra layer of depth.

She paints mostly from abstract to figurative with acrylic on canvas. In her paintings she also uses colorology and the “dot” technique. The color choices and shapes are intuitive, energetic and healing.

After only six month, she had her first solo exhibition at a local art gallery/beauty salon in Stavanger city.

Artist Statement

When you look at my paintings, I want you to be left with joy and a smile on your face.

I’m French, but I have lived most of my life in Norway. That does influence my art in some way, specially the bond with nature. As people say about me, I’m a “French creative with Nordic influence”. Being also a makeup artist, I got used to work with colors; mixing and matching the personality of a person. With painting it is the same, switching the face with the canvas. I start painting and out comes every color.

My art is vivid, full of life and radiate positive energy. I want you to feel that passionate vibration, that breeze of fresh air and get captivated by the colors and shapes of my artwork. Having studied color therapy, I do believe that colors are healing and are awakening emotions within and around us.

Sometimes I get visions for paintings, sometimes they come through intuitively, step by step in the moment. It really depends on the mood and emotions at that exact time. I prefer working spontaneously and follow my intuition. I can start a painting and at the same time get an idea for the next. So I often end up working on two artworks simultaneously. Music and dancing are also important elements of the creating process.

Art is a way for me to express myself, to open up, healing myself to heal others. There is no more self-doubt. I’m no longer invisible and able to express myself.

I want to give people a perspective they’ve never seen before.

Through my artwork, you get a piece of me. From my soul to yours ☮
